Hardy Wangemann

Artist Blacksmith Richard Walker operates his forge in Smoko (near Bright) in
Victoria's Ovens Valley. Using traditional and modern techniques, the forge
has a range of power hammers from 1cwt to 5cwt to assist with larger projects.
These, along with the use of traditional hand techniques on the anvil he
creates the unique ironwork you see below.
After spending 12 months in the US and 18 months in the UK working with
skilled smiths he offers restoration and reproduction work, sculpture,
functional wares, gates, railings, signs and tools.

Hardy has been a long standing member of our Association, and is a regular, despite his home being several hours away from our forge.

He is also a member of the Australian Knifemakers Guild, and pattern welding is his speciality.

As well as knives, Hardy has produced some very nice patterned work in the form of door knockers and utility pieces.
